Secretary General Sultan Raev attended the Youth Gathering of the Turkic World
The “Youth Gathering of the Turkic World”, organised in Kocaeli by the Directorate of the AK Party for Relations with Turkic States, gathered young people from Turkic states. TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev who attended the event addressed young people at the opening ceremony thereof.
The gathering, held in Kocaeli from October 9th to October 11th, 2026 was attended by Prof. Dr. Kürşad Zorlu, Member of Parliament from Ankara, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Head of the Department for Relations with Turkic States along with TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Kocaeli and guests as well as young people from the Turkic World.
Speaking at the opening, Prof. Dr. Kürşad Zorlu highlighted the role young people play in strengthening cooperation within the Turkic World, emphasising the importance of developing bonds amongst young people based on their shared history, language and culture.
In his speech, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev referred to the deep-rooted heritage of Turkic civilisation and the responsibility of young people in shaping the future. Addressing young people with the words, “May your roots be in the past and your eyes on the future!”, Secretary General Raev stressed the need to preserve the shared cultural memory of the Turkic World and called upon young people to reach new achievements in the fields of science, art and technology.
Secretary General further Raev stated: “The greatest strength of the Turkic World lies in the unity of its young people,” and noted that TURKSOY will further pursue its efforts to strengthen cultural ties amongst young people.
The event which brought together young people from different countries of the Turkic World, aimed at keeping shared cultural values alive, foster communication amongst young people and explore opportunities for future cooperation.
