Workshop held by the Grifit Quartet

The Grifit Quartet, which participated in the "Awakening Through Art Festival" in Prizren with the support of TURKSOY, organised a workshop on " Traditions of Anatolian Baglama Performance and Performing Techniques and Anatolian Wind Instruments" at the Yunus Emre Institute on  September 16th, 2023.

Members of the Grifit Quartet  Salih Gündoğdu, Eren Can Yıldız, Mücahit Kol and Buğra Kutbay, who are also scholars of the Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, gave extensive information and examples of different performance techniques while introducing their traditional instruments.

Expressing their happiness to come to Kosovo, the artists who  said that they felt at home in Kosovo also stressed that they did not expect to encounter such  an atmosphere when they came here and added that they had the pleasure to   meet the artists here and learn the subtleties of their art.

The Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Kosovo,  Ramazan Yılmaz said that the "Awakening Through Art Festival" is widening the scope of its activities day by day.

The Deputy Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture TURKSOY Mr. Sayit Yusuf who took the floor at the event said that art is a vital component of social life which contributes to   peace and  development in the world. Mr. Yusuf who further stressed that every aspect of art is  experienced in Prizren added that TURKSOY will step up its contribution to this atmosphere of colouful artistic diversity.

At  the event, Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf offered two of the latest publications issued by  TURKSOY to Mr. Ramazan Yılmaz, the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute of Kosovo, who, in turn, offered him  the symbol of Kosovo made of felt.
