Commemorative Years of TURKSOY

With commemorative years it annually declares as well as commemorative events it holds along with publications it issues throughout the  year in various Turkic dialects, TURKSOY- transmits the cultural heritage left behind by illustrious personalities of the Turkic World  to future generations. So far, commemorative years declared by TURKSOY within this framework  were:

The Year of the Bashkort Scholar Prof. Dr. Zeki Velidi Togan commemorated in 2010 on the 120th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the Tatar poet Abdullah Tukay commemorated in 2011 on the 125th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the Azerbaijani playwright  Mirza Fatali Ahundzade and the turcologist of  Khakas descent Nikolai Katanov  commemorated in 2012 on the 200th and 150th anniversaries of their birthdays respectively, 
The Year of the Kazak composer Mukan Tulebayev in 2013, on the 100th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the Turkmen spiritual philosopher and poet  Magtumguly Pyragy  and Toktogul Satylganov in  2014 on the 290th and 150th anniversaries of their birthdays recpectively,
The Year of the Turkish playwright Haldun Taner and the famous Khakas author of epic legends Simeon Kadyshev in 2015 on the 100th and 130th anniversaries of their birthdays recpectively,
The Year of the famous scholar and philosopher Yusuf Khass Hajip in 2016 on the 1000th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the famous author of Azerbaijan Molla Panah Vagif in 2017 on the 300th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the Chingis Aitmatov, Gara Garayev and Magjan Jumabay in 2018 on the 90th and 100th and 125th  anniversaries of their birthdays respectively,
The Year of Imadeddin Nesimi and Aşık Veysel in 2019 on the 650th and 125th anniversaries of their birthdays respectively,
The Year of Kazak scholar Abay Kunanbayev in 2020 on the 175th anniversary of his birthday,
The Year of the Turkish mystic philosopher Suleiman Chelebi, the Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov and the Kyrgyz artist Toktobolot Abdumomunov in 2022 on the 600th and  100th anniversaries of their birthdays respectively.
