TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov inaugurated the new building of the library of Aktau

Within the framework of events carried out on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan,  the new building of the library of Aktau in the province of Mangystau was inaugurated.

The opening ceremony of the new building of the  Kabibolla Sydykov Library in the province of Mangystau  gathered the Governor Nurlan Nogayev, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov, Kabibolla Sydykov’s spouse Gulshat Sydykova and members of the loval government along with scholars.

In the speech he delivered at the opening of the library, Governor Nogaev congratulated readers on the occasion of the inauguration of the new building of the library  and wished success to its staff members. Governor Nogaev further said: “Books mean spirituality”  and added: “When we were living as nomadic people, we had oral tradition along with written literature.The inscriptions of Orkhon-Yenisei as well as ancient runic manuscripts are the brightest proof thereof. Books are the spiritual heritage of mankind. There are 500000 books in our library and I think that with our reading halls especially designed for our readers, I think that we will make a strong contribution to the widening of their horizons.”

The library featuring 500000 books is based in the center of the province which has 66 libraries in total with 12 different halls including a reading hall for the visually impaired, an internet hall, a world literature hall, a children and youth hall and a common working room structured in 5 different educational fields.
