Poets’ Gathering of the Turkic World
The Poets’ Gathering of the Turkic World has begun in the city of Khiva in Uzbekistan.
The gathering organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with the Governorate of Khorezm and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) took place between October 12th-15th, 2021 gathered poets from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Bashkortostan (RF), Sakha-Yakutia (RF) and North Macedonia.
On the first day of the gathering, participants who came together in Khiva, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2021 to take part in the event dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the passing away of Yunus Emre visited the Agahi School of Creativity, the houase museum of the poet in Khiva and the historical Ichan Kala.
Other sites participants visited throughout the gathering were the the Mamun Academy of Khorezm, the Presidential School, the Urgench State University, the Kamiljan Ataniyazov Museum Creativity Center, the Mugam Center of Khorezm, the Historical Complex of Ulli Havli, the Municipal Library and Information Center and the Municipal Drama Theater.
The Poets’ Gathering of the Turkic World is one of many events traditionally carried out every year by TURKSOY.
