The Second International Festival of Minstrels of the Turkic World took place in Uzbekistan
The city of Nukus in Uzbekistan hosted the Second International Festival of Minstrels of the Turkic World
The festival organized with the contribution of TURKSOY in cooperation of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan with UNESCO featured a song competition and an international forum on the Role of the Art of Minstrelship in World Civilization and took place with the contribution of 260 artists, scholars and folklorists from 22 countries.
The “Sing Bahshi” song competition left undelible traces in the memories of its spectators with colourful shows. The Grand Prix of the competition amounting to 7000 USD went to Janibek Piyazov from Uzbekistan. While the first prize went to Yuliana Krivoshapkina from Sakha Yakutia (RF) and Feruz Normatov from Uzbekistan the second prize went to Mubariz Aliyev from Azerbaijan, Elmira Cangabergen from Kazakhstan, Gulbahar Ahimbetova from Uzbekistan and to Aleksey Hovalyag from the Tyva Republic (RF).
The third prize went to Samed Kochobayev (Kyrgyzstan), Husseyn Geylan (Iran), the Caucusus Group (Georgia) and Bahshikul Togayev (Uzbekistan).
