Young Artists of the Turkic World take the scene in Turkistan
The tour of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) to Central Asia started with a concert in the city of Turkistan in Kazakhstan.
The first concert held within the framework of the tour dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries (Turkic Council) took place in the Concert Hall of the Akhmet Yassawi International Turkish Kazak University.
The concert of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY featuring young talents selected among conservatyory students from various countries of the Turkic World raised great interest among the audience.
In the opening speech he delivered prior to the concert, the Governor of the Province of Turkistan Omirzak Shukeev congratulated the Turkic Council on the occasion of its 10th anniversary and expressed his happiness as to the fact that the tour organized by TURKSOY began in Turkistan.

Governor Shukeev further stressed his happiness to welcome artists of the Turkic World in Turkistan and added: “This year, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Turkic Council. It is a great pleasure for us to welcome the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY and its young talented artists from Turkic speaking countries here in Turkistan and we are truly delighted that the tour is actually starting in Turkistan which was declared Cultural Capital of the Turkic World by TURKSOY in 2017. In 2018, the Province of Southern Kazakhstan was renamed as Province of Turkistan, hence turning our city into the capital of this province. This decision met by our Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev has turned Turkistan into the sacred center of the Turkic World. I would like to extend my gratitude to TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov for having organized this special event here in Turkistan and introduced these young talented artists of the Turkic World to us.”
TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov who also delivered a speech prior to the concert reminded of the fact that since its establishment, the orchestra has given countless concerts worldwide and said that this is the first time the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY is on a tour in the Turkic World during which it will give several concerts.

Secretary General Kasseinov who also stressed that young musicians from various countries of the Turkic World come together under the auspices of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY further added: "Young talented musicians whom we have selected among conservatory students of our member countries take the scene in concerts around the globe and introduce our composers who are the carriers of our cultural heritage to the world."
Secretary General Kasseinov further underlined the fact that the tour of the orchestra to Central Asia is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Turkic Council and said: "As amateurs of art, I hope that you will enjoy this concert of our orchestra which is the concrete result of the will of the Turkic World to cooperate based on its common language, history and cultural values."
- 70th birthday of the Tatar Conductor Renat SALAVATOV-
The 70th birthday of the Tatar conductor Maestro Renat Salavatov who was one of the conductors leading the orchestra during its rehearsals in Turkistan was celebrated in the first concert of the tour. While the Governor of the Province of Turkistan Mr. Omirzak Shukeev who extended a present to Maestro Salavatov also wished him further success, the audience congratulated him with its enthusiastic applause.
This year, the orchestra composed of 21 young artists from 4 different countries is taking the scene under Maestro Renat Salavatov from Tatarstan (RF), Maestro Anvar Akbarov from Kazakhstan and Maestro Mustafa Mehmandarov from Azerbaijan.
The tour of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY will go on with concerts in the cities of Taraz, Almaty and Shymkent in Kazakhstan between August 20th-September 6th, 2019. On September 4th, 2019 young artists will take the scene in Kyrgyzstan and on September 9th, 2019 they will give a concert in Azerbaijan.
- The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY -
The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY composed of young talented conservatory students from TURKSOY member countries was established in 2010. Up to now, the orchestra has given nearly 60 concerts in various cities of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Austria, the USA, Germany, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, France, England, Scotland, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovakia and Serbia.
The orchestra which had given its very first concerts in Ankara and Istanbul in 2010 had then recorded its first album dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2011.
The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY had then given 10 concerts in Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia Herzegovina and Serbia within the framework of its tours in 2017 and 2018.
