First Prize of the International Choir Competition in China for the “Nur-Sultan State Academic Philharmony Choir”

The Nur-Sultan State Academic Philharmony Choir conducted by Maestra Gulmira Kuttybadamova, one of the two choirmasters of the Youth Chamber Choir of TURKSOY, won the First Prize of an International Choir Competition in China.

The 4th International Competition "Heart of Chorus" held in Shangai between May 19th-25th, 2019 took place with the contribution of more than 100 choirs from Europe, Asia, Africa and China.

After the First Prize in the category "Contemporary Music", the Choir from Kazakhstan under Maestra Kuttybadamova also won the final round of the competition.

Within the framework of the festival, the  Nur-Sultan State Academic Philharmony Choir went on a tour in which it took the scene in  Shangai, Nankin and Suchju.

The repertoire of the choir featured contemporary  arrangements of works by composers of the Turkic World such as Abay, S. Seyfulin, A. Jubanov, L. Hamidi, B. Baykadamov, E. Raxmadiyev and A. Abdinurov.

The song performed in Chinese by the Nur-Sultan State Academic Philharmony Choir was selected as one of the best performances of the competition by the jury.

The jury members of the international competition organized once every two years were  Andrea Angelini (Italy), Earl Rivers and Nicholas Corasaniti (USA), Lin Hua and Zhu Jinming (PRC), Timothy Wayne-Wright (England) and Aarne Saluveer ( Estonia).
