Conference on Pioneers of the Turkic World– 11: The Nogai poet Kadriye Temirbulatova

The 11th Conference on Pioneers of the Turkic World was dedicated to the famous Nogay poet Kadriye Temirbulatova on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of her birthday.

The commemorative event hosted by TURKSOY Secretary General, Ambassador  Dusen Kasseinov took place on Januray 23rd, 2019 and gathered  the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Ankara  H. E.  Mahmadali Rajabiyon, the Chair of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Istinye University, Dr. Ismail Safi from the Board of Security and Foreign Policies of the Office of the President of the Republic of Turkey, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Akhmet Yassawi University Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Prof. Dr. Dilek Ergönenç from the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences of the Gazi University, the Chairman of the Association of Culture and Solidarity of Nogai Turks Muharrem Yılmaz, the Chief Editor of the Newspaper “Shol Davysy” published in Nogai language in the Autonomous Republic of Dagestan (RF) Elmira Kojayeva and the young Nogai poet Ayzanat Kamaldinova along with representatives of the Nogai diaspora in Ankara and many amateurs of art.

In the opening speech he delivered at the event, Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov said that the series of Conferences on Pioneers of the Turkic World was launched in  2017 in order to promote illustrious personalities of the Turkic World on a global scale and added that the 11th conference of this series has been dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Kadriye Temirbulatova, the famous Nogai poet and founder of classical Nogai literature. Ambassador Kasseinov further said: “Today, we are commemorating Kadriye Temirbulatova who made a considerable contribution to the preservation ofNogai Turkic language and its enrichment as a literary language and who unfortunately passed away at a young age. With the commemoration of Kadriye Temirbulatova, we are willing to get acquainted with Nogai literature and culture while introducing them to the world”.

Mr. Ismail Safi who also delivered a speech, reminded of the fact that TURKSOY which is the UNESCO of the Turkic World and has been carrying out activities to promote Turkic culture, art, language, literature and folklore for 25 years and stressed that TURKSOY is assuming an extremely important mission to introduce the rich cultural heritage of 250 million citizens of the Turkic World on a global scale. Mr. Safi who added that this commemorative event is introducing the legacy of the famous Nogai poet to a large audience extended his gratitude to TURKSOY for its fruitful activities regarding the preservation and promotion of Turkic culture.

Mr. Muharrem Yıldız who stressed that the Nogai people have been preserving their rich and coulourful oral tradition until today  further said that the life and work of Mrs. Temirbulatova who is one of the most brilliant representatives of Nogai literature  has been dealt with in a legendary film  by Elmira Kojayeva.

Following the opening speeches,  Prof. Dr. Dilek Ergönenç and Elmira Kojayeva made a presentation on  Kadriye Temirbulatova’s life, work and literature legacy. The event where the young Nogai poet Ayzanat Kamaldinova recited poems by  Temirbulatova also featured a documentary by Mrs. Kojayeva on the poet’s life and work.

The commemorative also featured Nogai songs performed by the Nogai artists Arslanbek Sultanbekov and Islam Satyrov as well as a folklore performance by Zehra Ergin.

At the end of the event, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov extended the 25th Anniversary Medal of TURKSOY to  Dr. Ismail Safi,  Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız and the artist Arslanbek Sultanbekov and offered a plaquette and certificate to the participants.

Temirbulatova was commemorated in Adana

The poet and melancholic voice of Nogai steppes Kadriye Temirbulatova was commemorated in Adana together with the Nogai diaspora.

The 11th Conference on Pioneers of the Turkic World dedicated to the famous Nogay poet Kadriye Temirbulatova was organized in Adana in cooperation of TURKSOY with the Metropolitan Municipality of  Adana, the Association of Culture and Solidarity of Nogai Turks  and the Association of Crimean Turkic People of Adana and gathered  TURKSOY Secretary General Prof. Dusen Kasseinov, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of  Adana Hüseyin Sözlü, the  Chairman of the Association of Culture and Solidarity of Nogai Turks Muharrem Yılmaz, the Honorary Chairman of the Association of Crimean Turkic People of Adana Fatih Karayandı and the Chairman of the Chairperson of the  Association of Crimean Turkic People of Adana Hande Bozdoğan along with many guests.

In the speech he delivered at the event, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov said that TURKSOY is speeding up and intensifying its activities to preserve promote and transmit common Turkic culture to future generations every year  and extended his gratitude to the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Adana Mr. Hüseyin Sözlü for hosting such projects and contributing to them with his support.

The Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Adana Hüseyin Sözlü  who also delivered a speech at the event said: "I have grown up in Ceyhan and been its Mayor later on. As such, it is a great happiness for me to host this event to commemorate the famous author and poet of Nogai Turks Kadriye Temirbulatova. Indeed, this is a city which was established by Nogai and Crimean Turkic peoples who migrated to Turkey."

Mr. Sözlü who also touched upon  activities carried out by TURKSOY for the Turkic World extended his gratitude to Secretary General Kasseinov and said: “We live and work for the sake of our people, its mission and unity. TURKSOY has been doing so ever since its establishment. As a matter of fact, in line with its mission to foster cultural ties among Turkic peoples, TURKSOY promotes our culture throughout the Turkic World under the leadership of its Secretary General who tirelessly works to serve Turkic culture.” Following the opening speeches, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov extended the 25th Anniversary Mesal of TURKSOY to the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Adana Hüseyin Sözlü in recognition of his contribution to activities carried out by TURKSOY. At the event, the State Artist of Azerbaijan Prof. Cahangir Novruzov from the  Çukurova University  received the Medal of Chingis Aitmatov from the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY  in recognition of his contribution to theater in the Turkic World.

The event also featured a documentary by Elmira Kojayeva, the Chief Editor of the newspaper published in Nogai Turkic language in Dagestan “Shol Davysy”  on the life and work of the famous Nogai poet as well as a reading of Temirbulatova’s poems  by the young poet Ayzanat Kamaldinova.

The commemorative event which gathered a large audience of Nogai people of Adana was highlighted by performances of Nogai folk songs and folklore by the famous Nogai artist  and dombra player Arslanbek Sultanbekov  and the young artist Islam Satyrov as well as by Zehra Ergin.
