The Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY took the scene in Yokohama
The Tour of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY went on with a concert in the city of Yokohama in Japan on November 15th, 2018.
The event which was the second concert of the tour featuring 50 artists from 12 countries took place in Kenmin Kyosai Mirai, the most important concert hall of Yokohama. Prior to the concert which started at 06.30 p.m., the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tokyo H. E. Elyasov Gurbanmammet and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Tokyo H. E. Gürsel ISMAYILZADE greeted the audience.
In the opening speech he delivered, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tokyo Gurbanmammet congratulated TURKSOY on the occasion of its 25th anniversary and and stressed that thanks to the consdierable contribution and efforts of its Secretary General, TURKSOY is getting more and more connected to the world through deepening diplomatic ties. Ambassador Gurbanmammet further said “As you know culture is one of the most important components of the project aiming at the revival of the Silk Road highly praised by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov. Within this framework, TURKSOY carries out major cooperatiopn activities togather with all Turkic speaking countries to introduce cultural values of our respective countries to the world”.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Tokyo H. E. Gürsel ISMAYILZADE who also delivered an opening speech prior to the concert said: “Azerbaijan is one of the most active member countries of TURKSOY and it does really carry out major activities. Today, we are going to attend a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan composer Gara Garayev and this is very important for us. TURKSOY does a lot to promote Turkic Culture and I would like to congratulate it on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. May TURKSOY be always successful in all its activities.”
Following Ambassador ISMAYILZADE's speech, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen KASSEINOV extended a souvenir plate of TURKSOY especially prepared for the 100th anniversary of of Gara Garayev to him.
The concert which lasted approximately 90 minutes featured colourful performances of traditional folk musicians,soloists and dancers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Bashkortostan (RF), Khakassia (RF), Tyva (RF), Sakha-Yakutia (RF), Gagauzia (Moldova) and Mongolia.
At the end of the concert, the audience joyfully applauded the artists and cued to have their photographe taken together with the artists. The tour of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments of TURKSOY to Japan will go on with a concert in Tokyo on November 16th, followed by a performance in Hamamatsu on November 18th and a concert in Tokyo on November 20th, 2018.
