The Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble is on tour in Turkey
Within the framework of its tour to Turkey hosted and organized by TURKSOY, the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan visited TURKSOY Headquarters.
In the speech he delivered on in the Conference Hall of TURKSOY on this occasion, TURKSOY Secretary General, Ambassador Dusen Kasseinov greeted the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble and expressed his happiness to be introducing this ensemble composed of Uygur Turkic people as representatives of a people which have successfully preserved their identity, culture, art, traditions and customs.
Mr. Kasseinov further said that the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble has been promoting the history, culture, language and traditions of the Uygur people since its establishment in 1934 and promoting moral values such as patriotism, peoples’ brotherhood and tolerance.
Mr. Kasseinov also reminded of the fact that this ensemble whose contribution to the artistic thriving of Uygur people of Kazakhstan is unique, is named after Kuddus Kujamyarov and said that this famous Uygur composer whose 100th anniversary is being celebrated this year, is an example to follow for young generations.
Mr. Kasseinov further stressed that Kujamyarov was a determined, disciplined and ambitious person since his early adulthood and that he realized his dream to become the first composer to enter the history of the Uygur people with his very own style combining national melodies of the Uygur people with special techniques of harmony and composition.
The Director of the Kuddus Kujamyarov Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble Murat Ahmediyev who also said a few words at the meeting stressed that the ensemble has come to Turkey upon request of TURKSOY and will give 3 concerts in Turkey introducing Uygur music and culture to audiences in Adana, Ankara and Istanbul.
Mr. Ahmediyev further said that the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan is the only Uygur Theater outside China where the majority of Uygur people live and extended his gratitude to TURKSOY for giving it the opportunity to introduce the rich culture and art of the Uygur people to amateurs of art in Turkey.
Within the framework of its tour in Turkey, the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater Ensemble which carries out activities to preserve and promote Uygur culture and art through music and theater performances will give concerts in Adana, Ankara and Istanbul.
During their tour dedicated to the 25th anniversary of TURKSOY and the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the famous Uygur composer Kuddus Kujamyarov, artists of the Uygur State Academic Music and Theater will take the scene in a show entitled “Mysterious Mugams”. The show which will take place in Keçiören on October 31st and in the State Theater of Ankara on November 1st followed by the Cevahir Theater Hall of the State Theater of Istanbul on November 4th will also introduce “Garip and Senem” the common epic legend of the Turkic World as well as “Maqams” which are known to have originated from the region where Uygur people live.
