The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY performed once again in Mostar
The tour of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY featuring 6 concerts in 3 countries went on in Bosnia Herzegowina where young artists of the Turkic World took the scene for a second time around in Mostar on August 1st, 2018 after last year's concert in the same city.
The concert hosted by the Cultural Center of Mostar took place in the presence of the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Mostar Mrs.Zerrin Kandemir and the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Mostar Mr. Yunus Dilber.
In the speech he delivered prior to the concert which gathered a large audience of nearly 300 spectators, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov stressed that this is the second time TURKSOY participates in the Summer Festival of Mostar and said: ‘’Our orchestra had already participated in this festival last year and its performance was highly appreciated by the audience. Upon invitation of the organizing committee of the festival, we are here in Mostar again this year. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to you for your warmhearted hospitality and interest. This year, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our organization. Hence, we have dedicated our tour in the Balkans to this meaningful anniversary with concerts in Kosovo, Montenegro, Mostar, Sarajevo and Zenitsa. TURKSOY is an international organization of cultural cooperation which has been carrying out activities to build bridges of friendship, bring peoples and cultures closer together through the universal art of art for 25 years. Let me therefore thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being here with us today as this is a testimony of the importance you attach to art, culture, friendship and sharing.’’
The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Mostar who also greeted the audience with a few words prior to the concert expressed her happiness to see that events of TURKSOY enjoy great popularity in Bosnia Herzegovina and said: "Earlier this year, we had already celebrated Nevruz, the arrival of spring together with artists of TURKSOY. Now, with this concert, we will be hosting the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY for the second time. People were so enchanted by this orchestra's performance last year, that they expressed their wish to listen to it once again. The orchestra accepted our invitation and so, it is with great happiness that we have welcomed these talented young musicians of the Turkic World here again this year. It is our dearest wish to further foster our mutual cooperation with TURKSOY.’’
The performance of soloists and musicians under Maestro Mustafa Mehmandarov was highly appreciated by the audience.
The concert dedicated to the 25 th anniversary of TURKSOY featured a colourful programme with works by Turkic compocers such as Gara Garayev on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birthday as well as by Nury Khalmamedov on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of his birthday.
The tour of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY in the Balkans will go on with a concert in Sarajevo on August 3rd, 2018. Young artists of the Turkic World will give their last concert of the tour in Zenica on August 4th, 2018.
