We have been following up activities carried out by TURKSOY for many years. This concert marks the beginning of a longstanding cooperation with TURKSOY for us and I believe that we will realize major projects together in the future.’’

In the concert, the famous virtuoso Viktor Tretiakov performed Dmitri Shostakovich’s “5 Pieces for 2 Violins” together with  Natalia Likhopoi and “Concerto for 2 Violins & Orchestra in D Minor, BWM’’ together with  Miran Begic. Both performances received standing ovations from the audience.

The famous virtuoso Viktor Tretiakov who gave an interview after the concert said: “Before I came here, I had only heard the name of this orchestra. I got acquainted with its young artists in our rehearsals. I was really impressed by their energy and musicality. This is really an excellent orchestra and its conductor is just as excellent. We have given a wonderful concert. Besides, this concert has also been the opportunity for me to meet my dear friend Dusen Kasseinov again after 38 years. We had studied together in Moscow, then, years later, we had met in Mexico. I was really happy to meet him again here. It is with great happiness that I took the scene together with the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY in Cetinje within the framework of such a wonderful festival.’’

Natalia Likhopoi: We have gave a wonderful concert

The soloist Natalia Likhopoi who said a few words about the concert stressed that:

“With its performance, the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY has really enchanted us and, as far as I can see, it has also impressed the entire audience.  Shostakovich’s composition is very difficult to perform and I must say, these young musicians have really been perfect: they accompanied us with great musicality and skillfulness. Maestro Mustafa Mehmandarov was also great. He maintained the energy of the orchestra on its  highest level throughout the concert. Hence, I am really very happy about this concert which has been a great success.”

At the end of the concert which lasted approximately 70 minutes, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov greeted the audience and said that the last time he came together with Viktor Tretiakov was 38 years ago when he was part of the Philharmonic Orchestra of  Mexico and that the concert of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY in Montenegro has been the second opportunity for them to come together again. Mr. Kasseinov added: “Tretiakov is a great artist. I would like to express my gratitude to him for having taken the scene togather with our orchestra. Of course, I am also extremely grateful to him for his kind words regarding our orchestra. Let me also express my gratitude to the organizers of the Espressivo Festival for their hospitality  as well as to the Yunus Emre Insitute and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey for their precious contribution to the organization of this concert. Tonight, music has brought us together in Montenegro. It was a great pleasure for me to attend this concert. Indeed, it featured my friend whom I had not seen for  38 years and young talented musicians who successfully represent the Turkic World.”

The programme of the concert also featured works by composers of the Turkic World such as Ulvi Cemal Erkin, Gara Garayev and Nury Khalmamedov.
