Young Diplomats visited TURKSOY Headquarters
The 5th Joint Education Programme of the Turkic Council for Young Diplomats started in Ankara on June 25th, 2018. Within the framework of the programme, young diplomats visited TURKSOY Headquarters on June 28th, 2018.
22 young diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan were welcomed by TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Prof. Dr. Fırat Purtaş who gave them some detailed information on TURKSOY, its mission statement and activities.
The Joint Education Programme of the Turkic Council for Young Diplomats was launched within the framework of the Cooperation Protocol signed by Ministries of Foreign Affairs at the 3rd Summit of the Turkic Council. Pursuant to this protocol the first, second, third and fourth Joint Education Programme of the Turkic Council for Young Diplomats had taken place in Turkey between April 13th-25th, 2014 in Turkey, followed by Azerbaijan between March 1st-15th, 2015, Kazakhstan between May 23rd-June 5th, 2016 and Kyrgyzstan between July 3rd-16th, 2017 respectively.
The content of the education programme is determined by the Secretariat based on priorities set by the Turkic Council and the host country as well as on experiences resulting from previous programmes. Throughout this programme, young diplomats participate in a two-week course in which they do not only widen their knowledge about the history and current international relations of the host country but also establish mutual ties of long-lasting friendships with eachother.
The 5th Joint Education Programme of the Turkic Council for Young Diplomats held in Turkey will come to an end on July 7th, 2018.
