Chingis Aitmatov and Magjan Jumabayev will be commemorated in the Balkans

Within the framework of the cooperation between TURKSOY and the International Vision University, TURKSOY  Secretary General Prof. Dusen Kasseinov said that events dedicated to Chingis Aitmatov and Magjan Jumabayev will be held in Pristina and Prizren in Kosovo as well as in Gostivar and Skopje in Macedonia.
A delegation headed by the Rector of the International Vision University of Macedonia Prof. Dr. Fadyl Hoja  met with TURKSOY Secretary General Prof. Dusen Kasseinov and staff members of TURKSOY in its Headquarters. In the meeting, delegation members received some detailed information on TURKSOY and its activities and publications.
In the speech he delivered at the meeting, Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov expressed his happiness to welcome  Prof. Dr. Fadyl Hoja and his delegation in TURKSOY Headquarters and added that following the signature of a cooperation protocol three years ago, TURKSOY and the International Vision University  are carrying out joint activities to promote Turkic culture worldwide. Mr. Kasseinov who said that these activities will be further carried out in the future added that within this framework, various events will be held on  Chingis Aitmatov and Magjan Jumabayev in Pristina and Prizren in Kosovo as well as in Gostivar and Skopje in Macedonia. Mr. Kasseinov who stressed that TURKSOY already has departments within various universities of  Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the TRNC and Gagauzia (Moldova) said that such a department will now also be established within the International Vision University of Macedonia in Gostivar. Mr. Kasseinov further added that  the establishment of this department will make it possible for TURKSOY and the  International Vision University of Macedonia to cooperate more closely with eachother.
Prof. Dr. Fadyl Hoja who said that TURKSOY carries out extremely successful activities as the UNESCO of the Turkic World  stressed the importance of TURKSOY for the Turkic people of Macedonia: "As you know, we are a minority in Macedonia where we preserve our language, culture and traditions. The International Vision University is the only university in Europe which offers education in Turkish language. We are working fort he preservation of Turkish language  in Europe on an academic level. In this respect, the support and contribution of TURKSOY regarding our activities  are extremely important for us. This is why we always want to see TURKSOY by our side and we are willing to provide our own support to TURKSOY’s activities as well. In our meeting with TURKSOY Secretary General Kasseinov, we have decided to organize an event on literature and poetry in our university this year. So, let me stress that it will be great pleasure for us to welcome TURKSOY in the International Vision University of Macedonia on this occasion".
TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Prof. Dr. Fırat Purtaş who also delivered a speech in the event said that since the signature of the cooperation protocol between TURKSOY and the International Vision University of Macedonia, many fruitful events and activities have been carried out to promote Turkic culture and contribute to the rapprochement of our communities. Prof. Dr. Purtaş who also touched upon the opening of the Department of TURKSOY in Gostivar said: "I believe that our first department in the Balkans will be the one within the Vision University which assumes an extremely important mission in Europe as it provides education in Turkish language and contributes to the promotion of Turkic culture. Our mutual support and solidarity will make us grow stronger together. I think that activities we have carried out together within the last three years have institutionalized our mutual ties."  
Prof. Dr. Purtaş who also mentioned the panel on the 25th anniversary of TURKSOY which will be held in the international symposium co-organized by TURKSOY  to take place in Shymkent/Kazakhstan expressed his wish to welcome the Vison University at this symposium as TURKSOY’s voice in the Balkans. 
The meeting ended with a group photograph as a remembrance of the day.
The Cooperation Protocol between TURKSOY and the International Vision University  had been signed on January 16th, 2016. The afore-mentioned protocol aims at the organization of various joint projects by TURKSOY and  the International Vision University  in the field of literature, music, painting, handcrafts and folklore.
