Joy of Nevruz in Plovdiv

TURKSOY held a Nevruz Concert featuring "Colours of the Turkic World" in Plovdiv, the European Capital of Culture 2019. 

This concert organized in cooperation of the International Organization of Turkic Culture with the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv, the Diplomatic Mission of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey  was the first celebration of Nevruz in Bulgaria. The colourful event, introduced the colourful music and dances of the Turkic World to citizens of Plovdiv.

The opening speeches of the concert were delivered by the Consul General of the  the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv Hüseyin Ergani, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov, the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Plovdiv and the Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Yalçın Topçu.

In the opening speech he delivered at the event, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kasseinov said:

''Our Nevruz celebrations started in Kastamonu, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2018 this year, and it is a great honour for us to pursue these celebrations here in Plovdiv, the European Capital of Culture 2019 today. This is also an excellent example of the rapprochement and interaction of cultures.''

Ambassador Kasseinov who also gave some information on Nevruz celebrations of TURKSOY wished a happy Nevruz to the audience.

The concert took place in the presence of the Governor of  Plovdiv Mr. Zdravko Dimitrov, the Deputy Governor of Plovdiv Mr. Petr Pedrov, the Secretary General of the Governorate of Plovdiv Mr. Borislav Dimov, the Chairperson of the Municipal Council of Plovdiv Mrs.  Savina Petkova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria H. E.  Termirtay Izbastin, the Honorary Consul of Moldova  Veselin Çipev, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine Dimitar Georgiev and the Mayor of Parvomay  Angel Popazov.

The concert featuring coulourful performances of 70 artists from 10 countries of the Turkic World was highly appreciated by the audience in Plovdiv.

At the end of the  concert, TURKSOY Secretary General  Ambassador Dusen Kasseinov and the  Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Yalçın Topçu handed over the Nevruz plate of TURKSOY to the Governor of Plovdiv and the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Plovdiv.

The event ended with a group photograph.

Nevruz celebrations of TURKSOY will come to an end with the last concert which will take place in Sofia tomorrow.
