Institutions of the Turkic World came together in Baku

International organizations facilitating the cooperation among countries of the Turkic World in various fields came together in Baku

The 4th Coordination Meeting of TURKPA, the Turkic Council, TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy  and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation took place in Baku on February 8th,  2018.

The meeting hosted by TURKPA gathered the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, TURKSOY Secretary General, Ambassador Dusen Kasseinov, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation  Gunay Efendiyeva and the Permanent Representative of the International Turkic Academy  Askhat Kessikbayev.

In the meeting chaired by TURKPA Secretary General  Altynbek Mamayusupov, participants gave some information on activities carried out by their respective organizations in 2017 and exchanged views on activities and projects they intend to carry out in 2018.

Representatives of international organizations of the Turic World shared some information on wide-scale activities which will be carried out by their respective organizations in   2018 and agreed upon the fact that further improvement is needed in the coordination and mutual exchange of information  among their secretariats regarding joint projects.

Participants of the meeting further decided upon joint events to be carried out this year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of  TURKPA and the 25th anniversary of TURKSOY as well as the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan and the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Chingis Aitmatov, the great author of the Turkic World.

At the end of the meeting, it was announced that the 5th Coordination Meeting of International Organizations of the Turkic World to be organized in cooperation with the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation will take place in Baku in 2019. 

TURKSOY had hosted the 3rd Coordination Meeting of International Organizationsof the Turkic World in 2016.
