Festival of Opera Stars in Turkistan
The Festival of Opera Stars of the Turkic World took place in Turkistan, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2017. The festival organized in cooperation of the Governorate of Southern Kazakhstan with the Governorate of Turkistan was dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birthday of the famous Kazak lyrical artist Camal Omarova this year.
The opening speeches of the festival organized in order to strengthen the ties of friendship among Turkic speaking peoples and bring peoples closer together through the ar of modern opera were delivered by the Director of the Cultural Center of the Governorate of Southern Kazakhstan Nurbolat Ahmetjanov and the Governor of Turkistan Alipbek Oserbayev.
Artists who participated in the festival were Caner Akgun from Turkey, Asel Bekbayeva from Kyrgyzstan, Nemat Habibov - winner of international competitions- from Uzbekistan, Jenisbek Piyazov from Karakalpakistan, the soloist of the Opera Theater of Astana Jan Tapin from Kazakhstan, the soloist of the Abay Kazak State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and holder of the State Award of Kazakhstan Talgat Kuzembayev, along with honoured cultural workers Gulzat Dauirbayeva, Bolat Bokenov, Uralhan Seylbekova and winners of international competitions Guljan Raskaliyeva, Marat Orazmetov, Erlan Jandarbay, Madihan Duyseyev, Jumabek Kantarbayev, Karakoz Abdişaripova, Aydos Imanjapparov and Karlıga Berdiyar.
Conductors of the performances at the festival were Askar Boribayev, Honoured Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan, Director and Art Director of the Abay Kazak State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Aida Abdullayeva, Honoured Cultural Worker of Karakalpakistan and Kuanysh Ismailov, Chief Conductor of the Opera and Ballet Theater of Southern Kazakhstan.
