Visit of the Rector of the December 7th Kilis University to TURKSOY

A delegation of the  December 7th Kilis University headed by its Rector Prof. Dr Zekeriya Akman paid a visit to Deputy Secretary General Yusuf in his Office in TURKSOY Headquarters. Issues discussed in the meeting which took place in a cordial atmosphere pertained to the critical role universities play in the transmitssion of the academic heritage and cultural legacy of the Turkic World to future generations. Rector Akman made a detailed presentation on Turkology studies and regional cultural projects being carried out within the university. 

At the end of the meeting, both parties exchanged souvenirs and reiterated  their commitment to mutual cooperation.

Following the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Yusuf assessed the process and the strategic importance of academic cooperation and delivered the following statement: "Our universities are the unshakeable bastions of intellectual integration and cultural awakening in the Turkic World. Efforts made on the ground by institutions such as the December 7th Kilis University with a vision that transcends borders will strengthen our young people’s sense of belonging to our common culture and shared roots. I do believe that any cultural unity is doomed to be swept away by the wind unless it is fortified by knowledge and wisdom. This is why we consider the guidance of the academic world as the compass of our unity."
