Visit of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary to TURKSOY

Within the framework of his official visit to Turkey, Mr. Sándor Lezsák, the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly came together with staff members of TURKSOY.

The meeting wich gathered Mr. Sándor Lezsák along with the H. E. Mr. Viktor Matis, the Ambassador of Hungary to Ankara and his accompanying delegation with the Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Sultan Raev and his staff took place in the Conference Hall of TURKSOY.

In the meeting, Mr. Sándor Lezsák who stated that the cooperation between TURKSOY and Hungary is increasing day by day also expressed his gratitude to TURKSOY and its staff for the international poetry translation competition organized by TURKSOY in cooperation with the Lekitelek Foundation of Hungary on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birthday of the Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi. Mr. Lezsák who also expressed his appreciation as to  the cooperation of TURKSOY with Hungary stressed his wish to further foster this fruitful cooperation and invited staff members of TURKSOY to Lekitelek in Hungary. 

Following the presentation film on TURKSOY, Secretary General Sultan Raev briefed the delegation on activities carried out by the Organization and expressed his appreciation as to the role played by TURKSOY as a bridge facilitating the development of cultural ties between the brotherly Hungarian people and the Turkic World. 

Emphasizing that TURKSOY is the common roof of the culture and art of the Turkic World, Mr. Raev further said: "We want to see the flag of Hungary flying in TURKSOY" and expressed his wish to see Hungary become a member of TURKSOY.

The meeting ended with a group photograph taken as a remembrance of the day.
