Visit of Secretary General Sultan Raev to the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in Tashkent

During his visit to Uzbekistan, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture TURKSOY met with the President of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Nuridinov and exchanged views with him on the institution's work and joint projects planned for the coming period.

The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, which is in charge of the development of visual and applied arts and design as well as of ensuring the continuity of academic art education, and institutional support for the artistic activities  stands out with its infrastructure which provides opportunities for artists' personal and creative exhibitions as well as with  programmes it offers to support talented young people, and its international cooperation activities. The work carried out within the Academy is strengthened by experience-sharing relationships established with the world's leading art academies, educational institutions, and distinguished cultural and artistic circles.

The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan implements various projects aimed at strengthening cultural ties between TURKSOY member countries, promoting the visual arts of the Turkic World, and encouraging joint art productions. Within this framework, TURKSOY has been an active and consistent partner in various  events it organised so far.

One concrete example of this cooperation is the International Festival of Visual and Applied Arts, held annually in the capital of Uzbekistan. As part of the festival, an international painting exhibition featuring Works resulting from the ‘Painters’ Gathering of the Turkic World' is planned to be held between  April 20th-24th, 2026.

In addition to this, an Artists' Festival is planned to be held in May in Andijan, the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026 declared as such by the Permanent Council of TURKSOY.  Within the framework of this festival, an international conference will also be held with the participation of member countries in cooperation with TURKSOY.

During the visit, Secretary General Sultan Raev and the President of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Nuridinov exchanged views on the high-level organisation of the afore-mentioned events and the development of joint projects within an institutional framework, as well as future opportunities for cooperation.
