Visit of a delegation from Kazakhstan to the Governorate of Ankara
A High-level delegation from the Province of Mangystau in Kazakhstan accompanied by a delegation of TURKSOY headed by its Secretary General Sultan Raev, visited the Governorate of Ankara, following a year of successful events held in Aktau, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World.
The delegation was composed of Deputy Governor of the Province of Mangystau Mr. Tilegen Abishev, the Mayor of Aktau Mr. Abilkair Baipakov, the Director of Cultural Affairs of the Province of Mangystau Mr. Nurtas Sali, the Representative of Kazakhstan to TURKSOY Mrs. Nişangül Karatayeva, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ankara H. E. Mr. Yerkebulan Sapiyev and the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Sayit Yusuf.
Issues discussed in the meeting held in the Office of Governor Vasip Şahin pertained to activities carried out in Aktau throughout its year as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World as well as to cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. During the visit which took place in an extremely cordial atmosphere, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stressed that Aktau has successfully born the title of Cultural Capital of the Turkic World and said: ‘With an opening ceremony attended by over 100,000 people and more than 40 major events, Aktau, the pearl of the Caspian Sea, has set an example for the cultural unity of the Turkic World.’
The Deputy Governor of the Province of Mangystau Mr. Tilegen Abishev expressed his appreciation as to the hospitality of TURKSOY as well as of Turkish authorities and said:
"The warm-hearted welcome of Governor Vasip Şahin in Ankara and the close support of TURKSOY staff members have been a great motivation for us. We felt the spirit of brotherhood of the Turkic World here as well.‘
At the end of the meeting, the delegation invited the Governor of Ankara Mr. Vasip Şahin to the Opening Ceremony of the “Yurt Tent” to be held at TURKSOY Headquarters on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025.
The visit ended with the mutual exchange of souvenirs and a photo session.
