TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev pays tribute to Abay Kunanbayulı

Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture TURKSOY, laid a garland at the Abay Monument in Astana and paid his respects on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of the birthday of Abay Kunanbayulı, the great poet and philosopher of Kazakh literature and a shared cultural value of the Turkic World.

The ceremony where participants paid tribute to Abay, the philosophical depth of his ideas, his spiritual legacy and influence on Turkic culture and the Turkic World was attended by Kazakh intellectuals, poets, authors, foreign guests, diplomatic representatives, and Ulıkbek Esdavlet, the President of Authors’ Association of TURKSOY.

In his speech, Secretary General Raev stressed that Abay Kunanbayulı is a common value not only for the Kazak people but for the entire Turkic World and noted with Works  exalting universal human values, Abay's legacy will continue to be a source of inspiration for future generations.

The tradition of TURKSOY to commemorate and promote the legacy left behind by illustrious personalities of the common culture of the Turkic World is being further preserved thanks to Secretary General Raev and his personal follow-up.
