TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev gave an interview to the Turkmenistan Newspaper
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev was interviewed by Mrs. Aygul Rahimova from the Turkmenistan Newspaper.
Speaking about events carried out by TURKSOY in Turkmenistan as well as about activities held in Anev, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024 and cultural events planned to be held in Turkmenistan in the future, Secretary General Raev expressed his gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Mr. Serdar Berdimuhammedov for his special attention regarding TURKSOY events.
Asked about events foreseen to be organized by TURKSOY in Turkmenistan in the long term, Secretary General Raev said: "Founded in 1993 by five independent Turkic Republics, TURKSOY is an organization which has been working in the field of culture and civilisation ever since. Our mission is to promote and preserve the common culture and civilisation of the Turkic World. TURKSOY works in line with these objectives. Besides his Turkmen identity, Magtumguly Fragi is an essential part of the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World .TURKSOY will be present everywhere in the Turkic World with its cultural and civilisation activities. I am also a man of letters, a novelist and dramaturgist. I wish outstanding works of Turkmen literature to be translated and published in Ankara. I wish that important works by authors of the Turkic World will be translated into Turkmen and performed and read in Turkmenistan. I think that such initiatives will help us raise our awareness about our common culture. There are many great Turkmen musicians, artists and theatre actors and actresses. Their recognition in other countries of the Turkic world is one of the goals pursued by TURKSOY. Theatre and music ensembles should introduce Turkmen art amateurs of art through mutual visits. Turkmen artists took the scene in an event organised in Ankara. They gave a wonderful performance which will be remembered by the audience in for a long time. The number of such events will of course continue to increase. Conferences and symposiums with the participation of Turkmen scientists, film festivals with the participation of Turkmen directors and scriptwriters, international painting exhibitions with the participation of Turkmen painters will all be carried out more frequently as time goes by.
I hereby assure you that as Secretary General of TURKSOY, I will be personally following up activities on Turkmenistan." and stressed his appreciation as to the active participation of Turkmenistan in activities carried out by TURKSOY.
