TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev came together with the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev met with President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev.
During the bilateral meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere, a strong will was expressed to increase the cooperation activities between TURKSOY and the National Academy of Sciences. A protocol on the framework of joint activities between TURKSOY and the National Academy of Sciences was also signed during the bilateral meeting.
In the speech he delivered at the signature ceremony, the President of the National Academy of Sciences Akylbek Kurishbayev said: "The history of Turkic peoples emerged from our steppes. Although there are small differences between our languages, these languages come from the same root like the branches of a tree. Our culture is one as well as our languages. The fact that we migrated to different geographies in time and separated from each other does not change this fact. That is why we are aware of the importance of TURKSOY's activities. I have no doubt that in the future our cooperation will continue to increase for the common development of science and education."
Secretary General Sultan Raev who also delivered a speech at the meeting said: “As part of activities it carried out in recent years to promote the culture, history and art of the Turkic World TURKSOY celebrated the birthday anniversaries of illustrious authors of Kazakhstan such as Abay in particular but also the 150th anniversary of the birthday of Ahmet Baytursunov, the 125th anniversary of the birthday of Mukhtar Avezov and the 125th anniversary of the birthday of Temirbek Jurgenov. We have published the translation of works by Baytursunov, Avezov and Jurgenov”.
We have organised conferences and symposiums dedicated to these personalities in different universities. We also attach particular importance to the study of historical issues related to the Turkic World and the research of Turkic inscriptions with runic letters. That is why we have come here."
The meeting ended with a ceremony in which Secretary General Raev and the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev signed the protocol setting the framework of joint activities which will be carried out in cooperation of TURKSOY with the National Academy of Sciences.
