TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev attended the exhibition “Turkic World: Common Roots, Common Heritage” in Astana
On March 2nd, 2026, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organization for Turkic Culture TURKSOY attended cultural and literary events held at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event carried out within the framework of the “Kalemkâr Workshop” project run by the Astana Branch of the Authors' Association of Kazakhstan with the support of the Directorate of Language Development and Archive Affairs of Astana City and the National Academic Library, was attended by Sultan Raev, as well as numerous intellectuals, authors, scholars, university faculty members, and students.
During the visit, Secretary General Raev came together with Kümis Seitova, the Director of the National Academic Library, and was briefed on the library's activities. The meeting addressed the promotion of the common literary heritage of Turkic peoples and the implementation of joint projects. The parties also discussed their cooperation perspectives on taking cultural and humanitarian cooperation to a new level and systematically promoting common spiritual values.
Opening of an exhibition on “The Turkic World: Common Roots, Common Heritage”
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition on “The Turkic World: Common Roots, Common Heritage” featuring books donated by Sultan Raev to the library's collection was inaugurated. The exhibition introduced works reflecting the rich literature, history, and spiritual world the Turkic peoples to the readers.
In the main part of the event, Secretary General Sultan Raev gave a lecture on “The Literary Process and Literary Integration” in the Makataev Hall. The event was moderated by the poet and Director of the Astana Branch of the Authors' Association of Kazakhstan, Bauırjan Babajanulı. In his lecture, Secretary General Raev discussed current developments in the literature of the Turkic World, and the preservation of the common literary heritage, and its transmission to future generations, explaining the contributions of literary integration to the cultural unity of the Turkic peoples.
At the event, Bayanğali Alimjanov, a bard and manaschy, recited a section from the great Kyrgyz epic “Manas.”
