TURKSOY Secretary General Raev met with the Rector of the State Institute of Uzbekistan for Culture and Art

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev met with Prof. Dr. Eldor Shermanov, Rector of the State Institute of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan on March 28th, 2023.

In  the meeting, Secretary General  Raev and Prof. Dr.  Shermanov discussed preparations  regarding the "Theatre Festival of University Students" which will be hosted by the State Institute of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan in 2023 as the first event of the Union of Art Universities of the Turkic World established upon initiative of TURKSOY in Almaty on March 15th, 2023.

Other issues discussed in the meeting pertained to  the "1st Meeting of the Union of Art Universities" to be held alongside  with the festival which will be taking place  in Tashkent between May 21st-27th, 2023. Both parties  agreed to discuss   issues  such as the  strengthening of  education in the field of culture, art and literature as well as the organization of academic staff and student exchange programmes among universities and double graduation programmes in order to further foster the ties of brotherhood among young people,  and summer schools.

The  meeting ended with a colourful performance of music and dances from various regions of Uzbekistan by a folklore ensemble in honour of the  delegation of TURKSOY.
