TURKSOY Secretary General Raev met with the Minister of Culture of Kazakhstan

The Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Dauren Abaev met with Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture  (TURKSOY). 

In the meeting which took place in the National Museum of Kazakhstan both parties who exchanged views on joint activities carried out in  2022 also stressed the fact that  various  events will be carried out along with celebrations of the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY in  2023.

Within this framework, Minister Abaev reminded of the statement delivered by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasım Jomart Tokaev at the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in the city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan this year, and said that the 30th anniversary of  TURKSOY will be celebrated at highest level with wide-scope events in Kazakhstan.

Minister Abaev further said:  “Thanks to TURKSOY, the cooperation among countries of the Turkic World is reaching a new level in qualitative terms. We attach great importance to the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of our peoples. I am strongly convinced that the year 2023 which will mark the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY willl give a strong impetus to activities we will be carrying out in various fields. Of course, the Republic of Kazakhstan will be providing all the support necessary to these celebrations.” 

TURKSOY Secretary General  Sultan Raev who also said a few words at the event conveyed his gratitude to Kazakhstan and to Minister Abaev for his active participation in activities carried out by  TURKSOY.  Mr. Raev who added that TURKSOY carries out many activities to promote the culture and art of the Turkic World and commemorate its illustrious personalities also said that these activities are a strong contribution to the strengthening of ties among our peoples.

In the meeting, both parties also agreed upon events to be carried out in 2023 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the famous Kazak statesman  Temirbek Jurgenov, as well as the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the Soviet and Kazak theater and cinema actress Biken Rimova, the 130th anniversary of the birthday of the author  Magjan Jumabayev and the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the poet, literature critic and author  Muzafar Alimbaev under the auspices of TURKSOY. Minister Abaev and Secretary General Raev also discussed the shooting of a film dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the birthday of  Sultan Baybars with the support of  TURKSOY in 2023 with a view to be broadcasted in TURKSOY member countries.
