TURKSOY Secretary General Raev met with the Governor of Samarkand Mr. Turdimov

Within the framework of his working visit to Uzbekistan, Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY)  held a meeting with the Governor of Samarkand Mr. Erkinjon Turdimov.

In the meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere, both parties exchanged views on the realisation of some cultural events which will contribute to the common culture of the Turkic World and discussed activities planned for the upcoming period.

Items on the agenda of the meeting were as follows:

  
-The performance of the play "The Great Turan" staged by the Katta Kurgan City Drama Theatre in all cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of guest experts from  Turkic member states of TURKSOY as well as  in all regions of the Turkic World with a big tour covering Turkic member states of TURKSOY;
 

-The production of a multi-part documentary series on Samarkand to be shown on TRT and other television channels in order to promote the city of Samarkand, which has made a great contribution to world civilisation with its historical monuments, mausoleums, fountains and mosques, and the culture of the Turkic World;

-The organisation of the "International Turkic World Youth Forum"  in Samarkand in 2025, where issues in all fields of culture and arts among Turkic-speaking countries will be discussed;

-The  organisation of the 1st "Great Turon"  event hosted by the Kattakorgan City Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan, a member of TURKSOY, in cooperation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan with TURKSOY and the Governorate of the Oblast of Samarkand.

All parties attending the meeting  expressed their goodwill as to the further development of their mutual cooperation.
