Turkmenistan and TURKSOY will strengthen their multifaceted cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan who spoke  on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and the Head of the People's Assembly of Turkmenistan at the beginning of the meeting, expressed his gratitude to TURKSOY for its work to promote Turkmen culture in Turkmenistan and abroad and stressed  the great contribution of TURKSOY in strengthening ties of brotherhood among Turkic peoples through cultural and fundamental values.

In the meeting, it was noted that in 2024, under the leadership of TURKSOY, more than 40 events were organised within the framework of ‘2024 Mahtumkulu Firaki Year’ with the aim of commemorating the great poet and thinker of the Turkic World Mahtumkulu Firaki and conducting new researches by analysing his works, such as the celebration of the 300th birth anniversary of Mahtumkulu Firaki and the election of the ancient city of Anev in Turkmenistan as the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World’.

In this context,  ceremonies held in March on the occasion of the declaration of the city of Anev as the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World’, the Second Theatre Festival of TURKSOY member countries, the First  Biennale of Visual Arts of the Turkic World, the annual meeting of the directors of museums of the Turkic World, the meeting of the Authors' Association of TURKSOY and the ‘Korkut Ata’ International Film Festival held in October were noteworthy events.

Both parties also underlined the importance of events such as the closing ceremony of Anev, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, to be held on  November 16th, the meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY member countries and concerts featuring  artists from different regions of the Turkic World and exchanged views on joint events planned to be carried out in  2025.
 

At the end of the meeting, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev offered the book ‘Anev and its  culture from the depths of millennia’ published in Turkish to the President of Turkmenistan and the Head of the People's Assembly of Turkmenistan as a remembrance of the day.
