Turkic Cooperation Organizations met in Gabala

The meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States was held in the city of Gabala in Azerbaijan in the presence of Mr. Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY, who attended the meeting as a representative of the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World.

At the meeting, where Turkic cooperation organizations gathered around the same table, Secretary General Raev highlighted the success of  activities carried out by TURKSOY in Aktau, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025. Secretary General Raev who also added that events organized throughout the year had a great impact on the Turkic World, further stated that: "Aktau has become the cultural and artistic center of the Turkic World on the shores of the Caspian Sea. More than 100,000 spectators attended the opening ceremony. Dozens of events were organized throughout the year in the fields of theater, cinema, painting, music, and literature. All these activities strengthened the ties of cultural brotherhood among Turkic peoples."

While Secretary General Raev also underlined  that events such as the Theater Festival of TURKSOY, the Young Authors’ Gathering of the Turkic World, the International Folk Music and Folk Dance Festivals, the Painters' and Photographers’ Gatherings and the Korkut Ata Film Festival also reached out to a large audience, he further stressed the fact that events and activities carried out in Aktau following its declaration as Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2025 are all together one of the most successful examples of cultural diplomacy in the Turkic World and stated that activities carried out under the auspices of TURKSOY, the first organization of cooperation established among Turkic States, have yielded concrete results in the field of culture.
