Trilateral meeting with the directors of the Turkish State Opera and Ballet Theatre and Abay National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Almaty

On  April 4th, a trilateral meeting was held between TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Director General of the State Opera and Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye Tan Sagturk  and the Director of the Abay National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Kazakhstan) Ainur Kopbasarova.

Issues discussed in the meeting pertained to the possibilities of development and interaction between the Turkish Opera and Ballet Theatres and Abay, such as staging of national opera and ballet performances under the coordination of TURKSOY General Secretariat, participation in international festivals, competitions and master classes. Secretary General  Raev also noted the importance of the establishment of the Union of Opera and Ballet Theatres within the framework of the international opera festival "Opera Stars of the Turkic World" held in Cyprus and the prospects for relations. He invited the leaders of the tripartite meeting and urged them to take an active role in the establishment of the Union to promote it and asked them to send their best soloists to the opera festival in Cyprus.

On the sidelines of the meeting, TURKSOY Secretary General handed over to Ainur Kopbasarova, the director of the Abay National Opera and Ballet Theatre, a plaquette dedicated to Abay.
