Third Literature and Books' Festival of the Turkic World in Baku

The  opening ceremony of the Third  Literature and Books' Festival of the Turkic World organised by the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan  with the contributions of TURKSOY and  the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) amongst other institutions, gathered the  President of the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan Anar Rzayev, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan MP Prof. Dr. Isa Hebibbeyli, the President of the Ataturk Centre of Azerbaijan and MP Prof. Dr. Nizami Jafarov, the Representative of Azerbaijan toTURKSOY Mr.   Elçin Gafarlı, the Programme Coordinator  of TIKA in Baku Hayrettin Özçelik, the Manager of Cultural and Publicity Affairs  of the Turkish Embassy in Baku Muhrettin Özçelik and the Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy  for  Culture and Promotion in Baku Muhittin Macit as well as MPs, scholars, poets, authors and intellectuals  along with many other guests.

During the open-air event held  in the garden of the  National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani National Anthem was sung and a minute of silence was observed in memory of   martyrs.

In the opening speech he delivered, Mr. Gafarli conveyed the greetings and congratulations of  Secretary General Sultan Raev to the audience and stated that as an international organization which  attaches great importance to literature and books and has supported the establishment of the  Authors' Union of the Turkic World,  TURKSOY is providing its support to  this festival for the 3rd year and will continue to support all cultural and artistic events  serving the cultural unity in the Turkic World.
