Third Gathering of Museums of the Turkic World held in Anev, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024

The city of Anev which is  one of the most important centres of Turkmenistan's history, hosted yet another meaningful meeting. 

Within the framework of  activities held in Anev, the Cultural  Capital of  the Turkic World 2024 , museums of the Turkic World came together at the "Third Meeting of Museums of the Turkic World" held on March 27th,  2024.

In the opening speech he delivered  at the meeting held at the Ak Bugday National  Museum in Anev,  TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev gave brief information about the establishment of the Union of Museums of TURKSOY and activities it carried out so far. Emphasising that the Union has carried out many activities within a short period of time such as panels in memory of famous scholars, mutual exhibition projects with museum artefacts, cooperation protocols, signature ceremonies,  seminars and information festivals, Mr. Raev said: "In the future,  TURKSOY will carry out intensive activities with you, our esteemed museums in order to develop mutual relations between museums of the Turkic World and to apply new technologies in museology while also introducing items of our common historical and cultural heritage to our citizens more efficiently. I hope that with each new meeting, you will present new original ideas to our agenda. Based on your valuable ideas, we will reach our common goal more efficiently and faster.

Our common goal is to preserve the heritage left behind by  our ancestors and their civilization from ancient times to the present day. Our museums are the best means of transmitting this heritage to future generations. Therefore, I would like to express with full confidence that TURKSOY will never withhold its support to  museums and their staff members  who bear the high  responsibility of a sacred duty on their shoulders."

Before the sessions, Secretary General Sultan Raev handed over  medals and gifts of TURKSOY to  representatives of  museums of the Turkic World.

Following the  opening speech of Secretary General Raev, the Third  Meeting of Museums of the Turkic World went on with various thematic sessions.
