Theater play performed in Ankara in commemoration of the Kyrgyz People's Artist Baken Kydykeeva

TURKSOY  added yet another events to its activities dedicated to the commemoration of illustrious  personalities of the Turkic World who contributed to its culture and art. Within this framework a theater  play  dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birthday  of the Kyrgyz People's Artist and actress Baken Kydykeeva was performed in Türkiye.

The event was organised in Ankara within the framework of the commemorative year 2023 declared by TURKSOY and dedicated to  the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the Kyrgyz People's Artist Baken Kydykeeva.

The play staged by the  Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theatre named after Toktobolot Abdumomonov was  performed at the Museum of Painting and Sculpture in Ankara.

In the  speech he delivered before the performance, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stressed that TURKSOY further pursues its activities to preserve and foster our cultures and brotherhood  and that  within this framework various activities are being carried out by the Organization  to introduce the famous actress of Kyrgyzstan Baken Kydykeeva and her art to the Turkic World. Referring to the important role of Kydykeeva in the Kyrgyz theatre, Secretary General Raev said: "A successful theatre artist can perform roles in different genres with mastery. Being successful in performing in different genres such as comedy, drama and tragedy shows the versatilitiy of an actress and these features can clearly be seen in Baken Kydykeeva."
 

In his welcoming speech, Murat Yıldırım, the Director of the Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museum, said that the building of the Museum  which hosted many events held for the first time such as the Turkish History Congress, the first Turkish opera "Özsoy" and the most important events of the early Republic, has now hosted another important event today and that they are pleased to commemorate this famous theatre actress of Kyrgyzstan in this historical building.

Following  the speeches, artists of the  Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theatre named after Toktobolot Abdumomonov took the scene and were strongly appreciated by the audience with their performances.

Within the scope of the event, an exhibition of photographs of Baken Kydykeeva reflecting her life and artistic career was inaugurated along with  a stand featuring publications of TURKSOY in the foyer of the Museum. Protocol members  visited the exhibition together with Secretary General Sultan Raev and received further information on the life and work of the actress.
