The Second Students' Theaters' Festival came to an end
The "2nd Turkic World Student Theatre Festival" held in Baku under the organisation of TURKSOY and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts ended with the Award Ceremony held after the third day of performances.
On the 3rd day of the festival, which started on 20 May 2024 in Baku, young theatre artists from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took the stage.
The T. Abdumomunov Kyrgyzstan National Academic Drama Theatre Theatre College, which took its place on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Young Audiences Theatre, got full marks from the jury members and the audience with the play "Early Cranes" by Chingiz Aitmatov, which is about the effects of the second world war on human life and the struggle for life.
In the second performance of the day, the students of T. Jurgenov Kazakh National University of Fine Arts tried to convey the reflection of the suppressed feelings of the family imprisoned in a house to the festival participants with Lorka's psychological drama "Bernarda Alba's House".
After the end of the performances participating in the festival, the awards were given to the young theatre artists of the Turkic World at the closing ceremony.
In line with the decisions of the jury members consisting of the People's Author of Kyrgyzstan and Director Janysh Kulmanbetov, the Kazakh theatre critic Prof. Dr. Meruvert Jakshylykova and Member of the Theater Department of the Ankara State Conservatory of the Hacettepe University and the actor and director Murat Atak under the chairmanship of the senior artist of Azerbaijan and theatre critic Prof. Dr. Israfil Israfilov:
While the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory received the "Most Successful Actor Duet" award and the Uzbekistan State Institute of Culture and Fine Arts received the "Fidelity to Tradition" award, the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts received the "The Best Actor Ensemble" award and the T. Jurgenov Kazakh National University of Fine Arts and the T. Abdumomunov Kyrgyzstan National Academic Drama Theatre Theatre College received the "The Best Play" award.
