The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Kerimli met with TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev

On December 11th, 2024, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Kerimli met with TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev within the framework of his working visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Minister Kerimli who noted that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and TURKSOY has been gradually developing over the years added that the Republic of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its relations with TURKSOY.

Both, Minister Kerimli and Secretary General Raev evaluated activities carried out by the organisation this year and expressed their satisfaction as to a number of successful joint projects, they also exchanged views on projects planned for the year 2025 and stressed the importance of the Second Cultural Forum of the Turkic World to be organised next year. 

In this context, both parties noted that the First Cultural Forum of the Turkic World which was held on October 13th-14th in Shusha, the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023’, was a remarkable project in terms of its contribution to the  further strengthening of cultural cooperation between kindred peoples.

While both parties stressed the importance of the furher expansion of the cooperation between TURKSOY and Azerbaijan in the field of cinema and more particularly concerning the joint production of animated films, they also discussed the issue of the  admission of the Republic of Mongolia as a member state of TURKSOY with an observer status.
