The play ‘Lauvre Duck’, an adaptation of the world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov's work ‘Ala Dog Running on the Seashore’, was staged by the Berdak Karakalpak National Academic Musical Theatre in Shymkent.

The play, which refers to the myth of the creation of the world in Aitmatov's famous novel, is based on the metaphor between Orhan Baba (Bazarbay Nazarımbetov), Kirisk (Gulsanem Abatbaeva), Emrayın (Kopjursin Allanazarov) and Mılgun (Bahram Maksetbaev) going out to sea to hunt, the journey of the hunters, who lost their direction as a result of the storm at sea, and the Lauvre Duck.

The play, in which the emotional changes of the characters were successfully portrayed, was found valuable by theatre critics in terms of showing the point reached by Karakaplak theatre art.

The actors of the Bardak theatre, who staged the play with great success, received full marks from Shymkent art lovers and the play received a standing ovation for several minutes.

The drama was written by Sultan Orazimbetov and Dilaram Nuryllaeva and directed by Mukhtar Reyimov
