The Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theatre took the scene in Bishkek
Theatre days and a tour of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theatre took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
Within the framework of the theatre days, performances based on Chingiz Aitmatov's ‘Mankurt’ and Hussein Javid's ‘Demon’ were presented to the audience. The Theatre Days of Azerbaijan in Kyrgyzstan were attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Murat Huseynov and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan Letif Gandilov.
In recent years TURKSOY has been actively involved in the process of integration and rapprochement of theatre art in the Turkic World. Under the auspices of TURKSOY, the opera ‘Khan Sultan’ by the Almaty Abay Theatre was performed with great success at the Atatürk Cultural Centre in Istanbul, and plays by the Kyrgyz Alay Theatre were staged in Uzbekistan.
The International Theatre Festival of the Turkic World, held annually upon initiative of TURKSOY, has become an excellent platform for the promotion of the art of theatre of Turkic countries. In this repect, the theatre days and tour of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theatre, were also successful and conquered the hearts of Kyrgyz theatre lovers.
The performances of Chingiz Aitmatov's ‘Mankurt’ and Hussein Javid's ‘Demon’ by the Azerbaijani theatre raised great interest among the audience. Hence, TURKSOY will continue to carry out such activities in order to further foster cooperation and integration in the art of theatre in the Turkic World.
