Strengthening of the Cultural Bridge of the Turkic World in Ankara: Minister Nazarbekov visits TURKSOY

Ahead of the official visit by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev tomorrow, an important meeting took place in terms of cultural diplomacy in the Turkic World. 

Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan and 43rd Term Coordinator of TURKSOY  paid a visit to Secretary General Sultan Raev in his office. Issues discussed in the meeting pertained to  Uzbekistan's leading role in the Turkic World and strategic plans for 2026.

Secretary General Sultan Raev: ‘Uzbekistan is the Unshakeable Pillar of Our Civilisation’

During the meeting, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev emphasised Uzbekistan's strategic importance within the Organisation, stating:"Uzbekistan is not only geographically, but also with its ancient history and deep-rooted cultural heritage, the heart of the Turkic World and one of the unshakeable pillars of our civilisation. Under the visionary leadership of Mr Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has taken giant steps in cultural diplomacy in recent years. Meeting with Mr. Nazarbekov today, we have confirmed our determination to pass on this powerful legacy to future generations. Uzbekistan's active presence within TURKSOY further strengthens our unity."

Preparations for Andijan as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026

In the meeting, both parties also discussed in detail the calendar of activities planned to be carried out in Uzbekistan's historic city of Andijan as the ‘Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026.’ Secretary General  Raev expressed his belief that Andijan will present a universal programme addressing the entire Turkic World throughout the year in which it will be holding this title.

Minister Nazarbekov expressed his honour to have assumed the 43rd term coordination of TURKSOY and emphasised that Uzbekistan will continue to provide all kinds of support to the organisation's joint projects in terms of language, art and the preservation of cultural heritage.
