Special Award from TURKSOY to the Film ‘The Composer’ and the Turkmen Foundation

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara, and Oğuzhan ‘Türkmenfilm’, the International Organisation of Turkic Culture TURKSOY presented two special awards at the event featuring the film ‘The Composer’ organised in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Türkmenfilm.

The film ‘The Composer’, which transmits the century-old heritage of Turkmen cinema to the future through the language of art, was deemed worthy of the Golden Winged Horse Special Award by TURKSOY. The award was handed over by Secretary General Raev to the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, Mr. Atageldi Shamyradov.

At the event, where it was stressed that this film reflects the Turkmen cinema tradition with a strong understanding of aesthetics and original music, it was also underlined that it made an important contribution to the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World.

The second award presented at the event was the Double-Winged Ulu Laçin Special Award which went to the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Foundation for the Protection of Children in Need and  was handed over by Prof. Dr. Kürşad Zorlu, the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Head of Relations with Turkic States.
