Shooting of the film on Nasreddin Hoca, the common hero of Turkic peoples scheduled for August this year

A press conference on the film "Nasreddin Hodja - Friend of Hard Times" was held on the sidelines of the VI World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

At the press conference, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, scriptwriter and director Vagif Mustafayev and producer Zaur Darabzade answered questions of media representatives.

Reminding that it was decided to shoot a film about Nasreddin Hodja, the common folklore hero of the Turkic World at the 40th meeting of the  Permanent Council of TURKSOY held in October 2023 in Shusha, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, Secretary General Raev said that the film will be made with the contributions of the Ministries of Culture of member countries of the Organization and TURKSOY.

Noting that the joint film of the Turkic World will be shot in Azerbaijan, as well as in Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Director Vagif Mustafayev said: "The film will bring together  filmmakers of  Turkic States and we aim to satisfy the audience by joining all our efforts with great responsibility."

Producer Zaur Darabzade, who said that the shooting of the film will start in August this year, stated that different parts of the 100-minute film will be shot in kindred Turkic Republics, and added that one of Türkiye's famous actors will be performing the leading role. The film is expected to  be released in 2025.
