Secretary General Sultan Raev met with the newly appointed ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ankara in TURKSOY Headquarters

The  Secretary General of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture Mr. Sultan Raev met with H. E. Ilhom Haydarov the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Ankara in the Headquarters of the Secretariat General of TURKSOY in Ankara.

The meeting was also attended by TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf, the Representative of Uzbekistan to TURKSOY Mr. Şevket Ortikov  and diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ankara.

Secretary General Sultan Raev congratulated Ambassador Haydarov for his new position in Türkiye and wished him success in his new function as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of of Uzbekistan to Ankara. During the meeting, Secretary General Raev underlined  the cultural and historical importance of Uzbekistan in the Turkic World and stated that the cooperation which has developed in recent years under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been a precious contribution to the joint efforts carried out by TURKSOY in the fields of civilization and culture. 

Mr. Raev who further stressed that the active participation of Uzbekistan in activities of TURKSOY has contributed to the strengthening of the ties of brotherhood among Turkic peoples also reminded of the fact that: “Cultural activities carried out under the auspices of TURKSOY strengthen the friendship and solidarity among Turkic peoples, who are bound by a common history and language’ and expressed his belief in the fact that cultural cooperation between the two countries will further  deepen with the beginning of the term in office of Mr. Şevket Ortikov as Representative of Uzbekistan to TURKSOY.

H. E. Mr. Ilhom Haydarov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Ankara who stated that TURKSOY assumes an important task in the preservation and transmission of the common history, language and culture of Turkic peoples to future generations also stressed that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attaches great importance to TURKSOY and its activities and  expressed his determination  further foster this cooperation.
