Secretary General Raev visited the Paintings' Museum of Turkmenistan

During his official visit in Turkmenistan between March  21st-23rd,  2023,  TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev came together with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mr. Rashit Meredov, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Turkmenistan  Mrs. Mährijemal Mämmedowa and the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldi Shamuradov in Ashgabat. 

Secretary General Raev  who met with  artists in Ashgabat also visited the workshop of Saragt Babayev, one of the greatest sculptors in the history of Turkmenistan,  as well as the National Museum, where rare works of Turkmen painters are exhibited.

During his visit to the Paintings' Museum, Secretary General Raev who examined all works of art displayed also  closely observed the remains of the city of Anev exhibited in the Museum as well as works thereon. After the visit, Secretary General Raev who noted that the Turkmen art of painting  is very developed said: “Turkmen artists have been participating in Painters' Gatherings of TURKSOY for many years. We have many valuable works in our collection. We present these works to art lovers with the exhibitions we hold worldwide  throughout the year. Within this  framework  we are planning to hold our Painters' Gathering  in  Anev, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024. This gathering which will be a large-scale event  will once again reveal the richness of Turkmenistan in this field”.

Before leaving the museum, Secretary General Raev also signed the diary of the museum.
