Secretary General Raev paid a visit to the Turkmen sculptor Saragt Babayev

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev paid a visit to  Mr. Saragt Babayev, one of the greatest sculptors in the history of Turkmenistan and met with him in his workplace in Ashgabat.

Paying his second visit to the sculptor Babayev following his visit to him in December, Secretary General Raev received some information regarding the  60-meter-tall statue of Magtumguly Pyragy which the artist  whose  many works are displayed in Turkmenistan is currently carrying out the construction of  for TURKSOY.

After the meeting, Secretary General Raev stated that the artist is    successfully carrying out his work and added that further details thereon will be announced  in the coming days. Mr. Raev further said: "Mr. Saragt Babayev is a very important sculptor for the Turkic World. He always supports the work of TURKSOY wholeheartedly. We thank him very much.''

The famous sculptor Saragt Babayev, who has his signature on many sculptures in the city of Ashgabat and has trained countless students, is currently  teaching at the  School of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. One of the works by the artist is the 5-meter-high statue of Magtumguly  Pyragy in Ankara, Turkey.
