Secretary General Raev met with with Fuad Necefli, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and Sándor Lezsák, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Parliament, world-renowned author and playwright, held a meeting with Fuad Necefli, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan, on May 14th, 2025, in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.

The meeting focused on the development of cultural and academic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary, the strategic position of Nakhchivan in these relations, and TURKSOY's multilateral cultural diplomacy activities between the Turkic World and brotherly countries.

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev emphasized the historical and cultural importance of Nakhchivan for the Turkic World, particularly highlighting that the founding charter of the Organization of Turkic States was signed in Nakhchivan, which adds a special significance to this ancient city. Secretary General Raev also stated that the State University of Nakhchivan has a significant potential to establish scientific and cultural bridges between the Turkic World and Europe.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Tamaş Torma and the Rector of the State University of Nakhchivan Prof. Dr. Elbrus Isayeb, along with senior officials from both universities.
