Secretary General Raev met with the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary Mr. Balázs Hankó
Following the official ceremony held in Budapest during which he has been honoured with the Hungarian Order of Merit on the occasion of St. Stephen's Day, the national holiday of Hungary, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev met the Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation Mr. Balázs Hankó.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Hankó congratulated Secretary General Raev for having been awarded this high state honour by the Hungarian State. Secretary General Raev, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the kindred Hungarian State for deeming him worthy of such a prestigious medal and stated that he felt deeply honoured to be awarded this high state honour.
Secretary General Raev also congratulated the Hungarian people and government on the occasion of St. Stephen's Day and conveyed his wishes for prosperity, peace and success to Hungary. In the meeting, both parties exchanged views on issues related to the development of cultural cooperation between Turkic and Hungarian peoples.
In this context, Secretary General Raev and Minister Hankó also discussed other issues such as the official recognition of the status of Hungary as an observer member state of TURKSOY, the candidacy of Hungary for the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2027, the performance of a theater play written by the Hungarian author Sándor Lezsák at the 3rd International Theatre Festival of TURKSOY and the participation of Hungarian representatives in events to be held throughout the year.
At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Raev and Minister Hankó mutually handed over souvenirs to each other as a remembrance of the day.
