Secretary General Raev met with Mr. Ilyas Topsakal in TURKSOY Headquarters

Prof. Dr. Ilyas Topsakal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chingis Aitmatov Institute and MP of Samsun paid a visit to TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev in his office.

Issues discussed in the  meeting pertained to  joint efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Turkic World and pass it on to future generations, and more particularly to the upcoming international conference to be held in UNESCO Headquerters  on ‘Chingis Aitmatov and UNESCO: A Shared Heritage Uniting the World.’

Secretary General Sultan Raev who expressed his pleasure to meet with Prof. Dr. Ilyas Topsakal  in TURKSOY Headquarters said:

"Chingis Aitmatov is not only a common value of the Kyrgyz people, but of the entire Turkic World and humanity. His ideas and works continue to build bridges between peoples. This conference, to be held under the auspices of UNESCO, is of great importance in terms of introducing Aitmatov's universal heritage to the world once again. At TURKSOY, we are proud to be part of such an initiative."

Prof. Dr. Ilyas Topsakal stressed the importance of the cooperation with TURKSOY in the transmission of Aitmatov's intellectual heritage to younger generations in the Turkic World and expressed his gratitude to Secretary General Raev.
