Second Class Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded to TURKSOY Secretary General Raev

Upon decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym Jomart Tokaev, the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Mr. Sultan Raev was awarded the Second Class Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Order was awarded to the People's Author of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Raev for his work in the field of culture and art and his contribution to the relations between the Turkic world and Kazakhstan. Secretary General Raev was handed over the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan  by the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Mr. Ashat Oralov during the 30th anniversary celebrations of TURKSOY in Almaty.

In the speech he delivered following the ceremony, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev said: "I am grateful to the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Kassym Jomart Tokaev for honouring me. The territory of Kazakhstan is home to many illustrious figures of  Turkic culture. Kazakhstan is one of the countries where our common culture is preserved in the best way. One of our most important goals is to protect our own culture from the effects of globalization and to enrich it while passing  it on to future generations. This is the goal we are pursuing all together in the Turkic World and we will continue to do so."
