Presentation of the 5th Book of the Project entitled "Fathers' Heritage"
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara, TURKSOY presented the 5th book published within the framework of the project entitled “Fathers' Heritage” and led by Kanagat Kodekov.
The event hosted by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey along with the 110th anniversary of the birthday of Dinmuhammed Konayev featured speeches delivered by the Undersecretary of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ankara Merey Mukazhan, the Representative of the Konayev Foundation Gabiden Zhakey, the President of the Köktuğ Association Lezzet Mülazımoğlu, the editor of the book Kanagat Kodekov, the Former Consul General of Istanbul and the Journalist Erjan Uais.
In the opening speech he delivered at the event, Secretary General Sultan Raev, emphasized that Kodekovs' project entitled "Fathers' Heritage" includes meaningful exhibitions dedicated to historically significant figures and values of the Turkic World. "The first exhibition was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the Kazakh poet and educator Abay Kunanbayoğlu and the 1150th anniversary of the philosopher Abu Nasir al-Farabi, the second exhibition was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the great poet Mukagali Makatayev, and the third exhibition was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the scholar and educator Ibrai Altinsarin. As a result of the exhibitions, three books entitled "Fathers' Heritage" were published.
Following these exhibitions, the fourth book honouring the 150th anniversary of the birthday of the great teacher Akhmet Baytursynov was published. At the moment, the fifth book has been published to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birthday of Dinmuhammed Konayev."
Secretary General Raev who also gave brief information about Dinmuhammed Konayev, who served as the Secretary General of Kazakhstan during the Soviet period, emphasized that Konayev played an important role in the preservation of spiritual values of Kazakhstan and the formation of Kazakh national consciousness, and noted that he was the leader of December (Jeltokcan) events, which went down in history as a rebellion against the communist regime in 1986 in order to defend the Kazakh identity during the strong period of Soviet rule.
Other speakers at the event also spoke about the importance of the project, the topics covered and outstanding personalities, as well as the life and work of Dinmuhammed Konayev, a valuable son of the Kazakh people, a politician and scholar who wrote nearly 100 scientific books.
Protocol members then cut the ribbon of the 5th book dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birthday of Dinmuhammed Konayev within the framework of the "Relics of Fathers" project.
During the event, TURKSOY Secretary General Raev received the Dinmuhammed Konayev medal by the representative of the Konayev Foundation Gabiden Zhakey. Secretary General Raev, in turn, handed over the medal of Ahmet Baytursunuly prepared by TURKSOY to Mr. Kanagat Kodekov, the project manager.
The Former Consul General of Istanbul and journalist Erjan Uais offered a “Chapan”, which is a Kazakh traditional garment to Mr. Sayit Yusuf, the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY.
